The sumptuous building of this Pousada is surrounded by mountain roads, where there are still small villages inhabited by old people who are faithful to their land, raising and grazing the lambs, sheep and goats. The architect responsible for the building is one of the best architects in Portugal: Souto Moura. He used the available stones and built something new but protecting the environment. The courtyard is impressive and the church was completely restored with two bell towers that symbolize the strength of a structure that grew year after year from its rubble
Guests are surprised by the strength of the cloister and the beauty of the stone that gets older with time. There is a stream coming from the mountains running further away
