Aveiro's first lighthouse dates back to 4 August 1515. With an excellent location and a harbour for maritime trade, the Pousada da Ria is situated on the peninsula that joins Murtosa to the beaches of São Jacinto in a unique and natural landscape.
The Pousada was opened in the 1960s and the waters of the Ria de Aveiro flow under the balconies from where guests can watch the Moliceiros fishermen at work.
